WELLBEING / FIELD GUIDE

Design space for a quieter stay.

Use choice, privacy and daily routines to make rest feel easier.

Look beyond the spa

Map where a guest can sit quietly, read, take a gentle walk or spend time away from programmed activity. Note noise sources and conflicts between event areas and rooms. Describe these spaces honestly so guests can decide what suits them.

Offer control

Review lighting, curtains, room controls, housekeeping timing and communication preferences. Give guests understandable choices rather than assuming every guest wants the same environment. Test instructions with someone unfamiliar with the property; a complicated control can undermine an otherwise thoughtful room.

Keep promises grounded

Describe the actual experience rather than promising health outcomes. A quiet terrace, a choice of pillows or a relaxing treatment should not be marketed as a medical intervention. Have appropriately qualified people review specialist wellbeing services. Collect feedback on comfort and usability to guide changes.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

  • Map quiet and busy zones at different times.
  • Test room controls and instructions.
  • Offer choices without unsupported health claims.

What to observe

Review noise-related feedback and how easily guests use room features.

An introductory working framework. Adapt it to your property, your guests and the responsible team’s requirements.
